BarBārrick is John Barrick, formerly of the Counterfeit and Smokehouse rock cover bands which played in the Frederick, Maryland area eons ago. If you remember either of these bands you are old, and should have your judgement called into question by your peers. I currently focus on acoustic rock.

  1. How do I book you?
    Contact me, quick! Either of us could die at any moment and you will have lived your life without ever knowing the bliss of having paid your hard earned cash to support my endeavors. Get your priorities in order and hire me now.
  2. I'm at the Walmart, do you remember where I parked my car?
    Been there, done that. Sorry but I can't help you. Next time try using Google Maps which will remember the GPS coordinates for where you last parked.
  3. What kind of music do you play?
    I play acoustic rock cover tunes. Generally it's probably considered "soft rock", or electric rock tunes which I play on an acoustic. Some of the bands I cover include: Tom Petty, America, Led Zeppelin, Seals & Crofts, Billy Joel, The Commodores, Elton John, Big Star, David Bowie, The Who... hopefully you get the idea.
  4. I'm mildly curious what a guitar playing Yeti sounds like. Do you have samples of your "music?"
    Yes, until the music mafia makes me take it down, I have samples.
  5. May I have your love child?
    Lady, thank you but I'm a bit old to raise new pups.
  6. Do you have your own sound system?
    Yes. I have a small P.A. and can play clubs or small outdoor gigs. I can also scale it down to just playing through a small amp if you need to keep things on the down low; for example, to play for a dinner crowd. If the event warrants it, and safety requirements are met, I can also provide a one-person stage.
  7. What's with the stupid name and all the Bigfoot references?
    Last name is Barrick (with a long "a"). I play in bars. See what I did there? I also don't play with much finesse. It's almost barbaric really. Hence, the Bigfoot, Yeti and Sasquatch references. As for being stupid, I know you are but what am I?
  8. How much do you charge?
    What the market will bear. There are many factors which may affect the price such as travel time, indoor/outdoor, event type, special considerations like how laid back you are. If you're very concerned about price (and believe me, I get it) I suggest you just play your ipod at your event: it's free, you get every song you love by the original artist, and you won't have sore ears from listening to my Sasquatch-like yowling.
